Blackberry future revolves around there new generation, BBX. The new software platform was unveiled at the Waterloo, Ont.company's annual developer conference is San Francisco. The new platform will power all of RIM’s future BlackBerry smartphones and BlackBerry PlayBook tablets and is based on the QNX software that currently powers the company’s PlayBook tablets. After blackberry had made there announcemnt on there new software, shares of "Rim rose nearly 2% on the Tornto Stock Exchange to $23.00.""The BBX platform will include BBX-OS, and will support BlackBerry cloud services and development environments for both HTML5 and native developers. BBX will also support applications developed using any of the tools available today for the BlackBerry PlayBook – including Native SDK, Adobe AIR/Flash and WebWorks/HTML5, as well as the BlackBerry Runtime for Android Apps – on future BBX-based tablets and smartphones." Also blackberry developed a brand new tools and services known as "BlackBerry Jam." This new tool is designed to make it easier for developers to create applications. Blackberry is trailing behind Apple Inc.'s IOS platform as well as google Inc's android platform in terms of number of applications. Also Rim is in second with most profitable application marketplace, being apple's app store. Blackberry has had a huge success in Black berry messange (BBM) and has more than 50 million customers who are actively using it.

I believe RIM is getting there act together. Rim was the leading device for the last 7 years and have been going down lately in the last 2 years. There biggest competitor Apple is continues hitting the stage and continually doing better. RIM's biggest hit has been Black berry messanger. Hopefully with there new software, there stocks will increase and they'll get back to the leading board with apple. I see full potential in RIM and can't wait until there device is number one again.
